Edit the Start Time of the issue you are tracking
Feature Request from a co-worker:
A very common use case is when you forget to start the timer and start it late. It would be nice if you could immediately edit the start time. By the time you clock out (and have access to the start time) it may be hours later and you might not remember that you started the clock late.

Inappropriate?Thank your coworker for his/her suggestion!
This is in JIRA as a new feature which is summarized as: "Uh... figure out how to do this nicely."
Since you have poked me about it, I will say that my first thought is to add a context-sensitive menu entry that does not let you set the start time, but offset the timer by some amount. So say that you forgot to start the timer but you know it was about an hour ago, you would do something like:
- Right-click issue
- Select "Timer offset" (or whatever it ends up being called)
- Type in your offset: 1h, 20m, whatever
Then the start time for the issue is rewound by the amount in the offset.
Thoughts?
I’m happy
