keep track of comments on the issue that is being worked on

I'd like to be able to keep track of comments on the issue that is being worked on and have those transfer over to the comment section of the pending worklog when I stop working.

Ex: let's say I need to add some specifics of what work I did. Currently, I would have to wait till I stopped work on the issue and then I could add comments to the pending worklog before I posted it. It would be better if I could periodically edit a comments field on the main "Issues" page. Then when I stop work on the item, that comment would get pulled over to the comments on the pending worklog item.
