Restore from "system tray" doesn't always restore on Linux
1. The app becomes minimized to "system tray".
2. Single click on the application's tray icon doesn't have the desired effect in about 70% of the cases:
2.a The app restores, but immediately minimizes to tray. (The window flashes on the screen for a moment.)
2.b Subsequent single clicks _might_ restore the app after a while.
2.c It also might happen that qfter several clicks, it doesn't even flash on the screen and there is no chance to restore or quit. The app has to be killed.
Environment details:
WLA: 1.0.1075
OS: Ubuntu 8.04.2
Desktop: KDE 3.5.10 (multiple desktop configuration - this _might_ be the key to the problem)
I'm really looking forward this annoying problem to be solved.
Cheers,
Marci

Inappropriate?Hi Marci,
This seems to be a new problem. I can reproduce this in a Gnome desktop as well. Sit tight and I'll try to fix it as soon as I can! Thank you for reporting with such detailed steps. -
Inappropriate? This seems to have been caused as a result of fixing http://getsatisfaction.com/somanisoft...

Inappropriate?Hi Marci,
Could you try the latest beta and see if this behaviour is fixed for you:
http://next.worklogassistant.com/down...
Thanks in advance!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi!
It solves the problem.
Another minor issue appeared the same time: after minimizing the app clicking the window manager's minimize button, the app hides. Clicking the tray icon doesn't restore toe app to it's original state but to "minimized to taskbar" state. I think this is not the desired effect... -
Inappropriate? You are right, this is not the desired effect. I'll see what I can do.

Inappropriate?Hi, it seems that this problem only occurs under KDE when the window is maximized. Sounds like a bug in the underlying windowing library that I am using.
However, there is a KDE application called kdocker which I use to dock stuff like thunderbird. I am thinking of making the system tray icon only visible when minimize-to-tray is set to true. This way, you can launch Worklog Assistant using kdocker instead.
What do you think?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi Marci,
In the meantime, I've modified the current behaviour so that if "minimize to tray" is not selected, the system tray icon is not shown.
This way, you can install kdocker and launch Worklog Assistant as:
kdocker WorklogAssistant
I hope to figure out the cause of this problem soon but as I am not too confident, I have implemented the workaround mentioned above here:
http://next.worklogassistant.com/stag...
Could you please download the Ubuntu version and tell me if it helps you when you launch it as above? -
Inappropriate?Ok, thanks for verifying and also for your patience and understanding!
