Slow down in performance after jira changes

Awhile back we made a bunch of changes in jira around our user structure and issue permissions. Since then it is taking longer to change jira filters out and also for us to publish our worklogs. Is there something that we need to be aware of to improve speed and is there something that we can monitor to see where the slow down is?

We are seeing this message a lot more "Retrieving Issues from Filter"

There is nothing in particular that I know of.

At the bottom right of your main screen, do you see "Extended API missing"?

You are saying this is happening without changing the version of Worklog Assistant, correct?

  • We have the extended API installed. We also did some more research and found the following:

We checked out what was going on with Fiddler and it looks like we are experiencing Worklog Assistant timing out on the request after 15 seconds.
This is happening because when the filter is returned all of the Jira items are downloaded including all work history and the returned items are growing in size every time we log work to the Jiras.

We have generic issues that have a lot of work logged against them over a long period of time. The assumption is that our loading problem will continue to get worse.

I understand that it is necessary to pull back all the information to populate the columns that will be potentially used. Do you have any other ideas on a work around. Maybe only request the information for the active columns in WLA? Thanks.

    I understand the problem.

There are some changes I can make to avoid downloading the entire filter. Let me see if I can make those changes.

    Thanks for your patience!
