When the data type for a column is a date, I'd like it to sort in chronological order, not as a number or a string.

I'm not sure JIRA gives enough information to do this but I might be able to use some heuristics or extend the server-side plugin to send this information. I'll see if the heuristics are satisfactory.

Hi Michael,

This change is available in the latest release. Currently JIRA does not give enough information for us to determine whether a field is a date or not. Therefore, we try to parse the field as a date and if that succeeds, treat it as a date.
