Inappropriate?Hm, I don't really have access to a * certificate. Could you send a screenshot of the error? If this is a publicly available server, could you email me the server URL so I can test against it? Email is support@worklogassistant.com
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?By the way, you can temporarily get around this issue by disabling SSL authentication from the configuration dialog.
The company says
this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Hi,
i want to access jira via ssl but i have not an offical ssl-certificate... worklog assistant won't let me connect saying "SSL_ERROR_SSL error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed"
i used an alternative tool called "http://almworks.com/jiraclient/" which proved to have "no problem" with not official ssl certificates.
will this be resolved any time soon?
cheers!
until then i am also using non-encrypted traffic..... which should be super insecure..... transferring login details (passwords etc.) without encryption.
you can have a demo access to my jira installatio!?
i am using tomcat on debian linux to host my jira.
ssl certificate was created like this:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/displ...
any news?
I’m not amused. ;)

Inappropriate?Hi CyberDave, you can disable the SSL authentication (which is what is failing) by checking the "Disable SSL authentication" box which is under the "Server URL" box.
-
Inappropriate?yeah but thats only a workaround..... so leave this at won't fix?
i have heard you are testing a new alpha version.... is this feature somewhere high prioritized on your jira-project-management or not?
... i got one year updates... so i hope that gonna be resolved during that time ;)
u know it's really hard to convince customers that their data is save.... when the login is not!? (china is watching everyone!) -
Just wanted to clarify that disabling the SSL authentication does not disable SSL. Just that the certificate is not verified against the signing authority. So if this is important, please describe what a fix would be like. I would like to get it fixed. -
Inappropriate?i just checked...... http://www.verisign.com/ssl/buy-ssl-c...
this is what they charge you per year..... for a signed ssl certificate.....
1-year validity $1,499 $995 $995 $399
I’m not believing it
-
Actually, you can get it for $99 from some legitimate places. I think if you are using the server for clients to access, then it is a must. If it's just for yourself, not a big deal. -
Inappropriate? Can you describe what you mean by a fix? The information *is* encrypted when you are using https but the certificate is not verified by a signing authority.
-
Inappropriate?alright i got confused with the checkbox "disable ssl auth"
it works when disabling ssl auth (by enabling the checkbox)
so i need to get an official ssl cert.
thx for the lively conversation ;) -
Inappropriate?Hope it helped! I love discussing cryptography :)
You should get a certificate depending on what level of authenticity you need. For ecommerce, it should be top-of-the-line. For most other things, I think you are OK with GoDaddy and friends.
