Hi,
starting work on an issue with "start progress" should automatically start the worklog timer on this issue.

Hi Markus,
WLA does the reverse at the moment: if you submit time on an issue, progress is automatically started.
I'm trying to think of any use case where you would want to start progress, but not start the timer... Otherwise this seems like a good complement to the current functionality.
Thanks for the suggestion! -

Hi Sohail,
I didn't realize this behavior because I've turned off the option "Automatically submit worklogs". But even with this option turned on, the issue gets the "In progress" state not until you've submitted the entry. This is unexpected and leads to confusion. Typically I start working on an issue, and solve it within a few hours. Just when I commit the worklog for this issue, it goes "In Progess" - usually just when I've finished it.
The more expected way would be to set the "In Progress" state just when time tracking starts and the issue is in "Open" state. Reason: when I start working on the issue, it _is_ in progress.
This is not true for the other way round. If I stop time tracking it might be for lunch or whatever reason. The issue remains in progress.
Best Markus-
Agreed. You've convinced me. It should start progress when you start tracking against it.

I’m happy
Hi, in the latest beta found here: http://next.worklogassistant.com/, I implemented the following functionality:
* When the timer is started, the progress is started
* When progress is started, the timer is started
Please give it a shot and let me know what you think and thanks for the suggestion! -

Hi Markus,
This change has been released. Please see http://worklogassistant.com/download....
Thanks! -

* When progress is started, the timer is started
-> it works
* When the timer is started, the progress is started
-> but this doesnt work!
If I start to log time (by double click or by Issue>"Toggle Timer for selected Issue") then time is logged, but the progress is not started (status remains "open" instead of "in progress").
It would be really cool if this feature would work. -
