Timer doesn`t stopp if you shut down your computer
If you forget to stopp your WLA-timer before shutting down the computer the next day you will find a lot of hours more in your pending worklogs. The running timer should stopp if you shut down the computer.

Inappropriate? This was by design but I am not entirely sure if it is the best design.
From a point of view of "don't make me think", I definitely agree with you. I will schedule some time to find a fix.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate? Can you elaborate on why this was by design? Are you logging whole days instead of just time spent on the issue? I mean this is really annoying if you forget a task active and the next morning no warning or anything just an unusually long worklog which need manual clearing.
-
Inappropriate?Well, if you want the dirty details:
* When working on Worklog Assistant, I use Worklog Assistant to track time
* Part of developing Worklog Assistant means I have to exit/restart often
* Timer stopping when exiting is bad for me. I figured it might be for others as well
That's the "by design" or "by intention" reason.
Apparently it isn't valid contrary to what I had initially thought! -
Inappropriate?I guess you should be running two copies of Worklog Assistant. The old stable version for tracking the time spent on development and the new one for testing purpuses.
I am tracking development time and as such I cannot develop software if my computer is not turned on and I am logged in. And in this case Worklog Assistant is running. So for me it is a paradox (contradiction) to have logging on and computer off. And guess this is also true for almost everyone else.
The only other situation I see is a person logging something else not connected to work on his own computers like going on a meeting, selecting task of the meeting, turning off computer and then turning it on again.
I think you should at least ask when Assistant starts if you want to apply the time the same way you do when computer is idle. But still I cheer for eliminating this feature completly. -
Yes, I think this misfeature needs to be removed. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi, please try the latest beta here:
http://next.worklogassistant.com/down...
This has the above change.
Thanks!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Yes, it seems to work fine now. Thanks!
-
Inappropriate?Sorry, I was too quick. This works fine if you only close and reopen program. However if you shutdown the computer it still stays active. You probably "hooked" the wrong event. The closing procedure is a bit different when shutting down the computer.
-
Inappropriate? This is correct. I should add the ability to distinguish when the computer is being shut down. I presume you mean shut down and not suspended, right? I don't think there is a way to catch it being suspended.

Inappropriate?Hi there,
This should work now for Windows only. OSX and Linux have different weird things that don't work so for now only Windows will have this behaviour.
I’m crossing my fingers that mitja uses Windows!
-
Inappropriate? You can detect everything by catching windows messages. See http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/...
And yes, I am using Windows :)
I will test this next week. -
Inappropriate?Ah, thanks for the link!
-
Inappropriate?Tested and it works fine. Thank you!

Inappropriate? This fix has been released to the main build. You can download that here:
